Position Description The successful incumbent will create electronic manufacturing instructions for Alcoa TN can sheet and automotive products, reflecting all specification requirements, to allow accurate product manufacturing, as well as analyze recovery and claims data to identify product improvement targets on an ongoing basis.
Major Activities and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Build automotive and can sheet manufacturing instructions (material masters) to allow accurate product realization under the guidance of the Lead Product Metallurgists for RCS and Automotive products.
Monitor for new products requiring material master development in Can Sheet and Automotive.
Coordinate with planning and logistics to facilitate inventory management.
Participate in maintenance of recovery tracking system, maintain recovery standards and performance by product in SAP system.
Monitor and report on TN claims from OSP, DAV/DAN for TN action. Report into customer data systems as needed.
Provide training as requested for GRP Commercial Group (includes Commercial Liaisons, Supervisors, Account Managers, Commercial Directors, etc.) to support accurate automotive RCS material master setup and to supplement COC s standardized work instructions.
Train GRP Commercial group employees and TN personnel to accurately enter data into Coil Size Distribution Model for TN RCS material masters. Training will include correct interpretation of coil size model data to determine the most profitable ingot size utilizing the customer s proposed min/max coil sizes and weights. Expand as appropriate to include automotive most efficient ingot .
Assist TN Product Met and TN Planners in utilizing non-standard ingot lengths. MM Technician will use tools in SAP to determine best current material to apply non-standard ingot lengths and setup material masters as needed to produce the non-standard ingot through the flow path, documenting with a process change request. Expand as appropriate to include automotive .
Act as a resource for TN production centers when non-standard materials are requested by internal and/or external customers. Assist departmental personnel in importing and exporting ingot from Alcoa TN on TIG or TEX designations to meet demand.
A higher Job Band will be considered based on education and experience.
Basic Qualifications Associates Degree with 7
years related experience.
Strong Computer Skills Required: SAP, Oracle, SharePoint, Microsoft Office.
Statistical evaluation skills for data analysis, with statistics courses.
Preferred Qualifications BS in technical discipline, with Metallurgy, statistics, computer applications, logistics or similar degree.
Working knowledge of shop floor manufacturing systems, preferably SAP, with ability to develop into expert knowledge within six months (MM, routing, inventory manipulation, quality disposition and transfer)
Ability to work within a structured, change controlled TS 16949 system to maintain documents, records, and data.
Ability to create procedures to standardize this work and provide training documentation
Commitment to safety leadership in role, including input from departmental personnel.
Knowledge of Aluminum rolling and quality/planning preferredEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
